That’s me and my adorable husband. First and foremost, I’m a wife and mama. I stay at home raising my five small children (when my youngest was born, I could say five aged five and under!). We have a boy, three girls, and, in answer to the first boy’s prayers, one more boy. They are my reason for getting up in the morning. I love watching them learn, grow, blossom, and develop. I love to hear them laugh. Each day I have to do at least one thing to send them into fits of giggles. Someday, I have a feeling they’ll be embarrassed by that.
I love to make stuff. I craft, I quilt, I cook, I sew, I crochet, I garden. When necessary, I paint, I build, and I try to fix things around the house. I’ve been creative since I was little, and creating beauty is what saves my sanity (see five small children above).
In my past (pre-mommy) life, I was sort of serially obsessive. I threw myself into a job for a few years until I got bored, then I’d go looking for a new job — usually in a new industry — and start the process over again. I taught high school and junior high. I wrote copy for an advertising agency. I worked for my state’s largest non-profit organization. I trained doctors and their staffs on electronic medical records. Now, I feel incredibly blessed to enjoy my favorite work of all.
I’m so excited to be able to share my crafting/creating addiction here, as well as all of the fun things that we do as a family.
