Today, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to Lorene from Cre8tion Crochet. If you haven’t seen her website, it’s beautiful! She has fabulous designs and tutorials, and has one of those website you just want to look at for a while. Lorene designed Zane’s Newborn Beanie for the challenge this year.
Where are you from?
I am originally from NJ, but I currently reside in NC
Tell us a little bit about your family.
I am married and have three kids. 15yo boy, 3.5yo girl and a 4mo boy.
Who taught you to crochet?
My grandmother taught me a basic chain when I was young. I taught myself everything else.
What is your favorite thing you’ve ever made or designed?
My Rolling in the Deep Infinity Scarf
What got you started writing patterns?
I wrote my first pattern about 3years ago and I have been designing full time for just 2 years now.
Do you have a favorite yarn/hook/other supply?
My favorite commercial hook is the Clover Soft Touch, but I also love my handcarved hooks from Craftwich Creations and I just ordered a set of clay handled hooks from Madly Made.
Do you crochet to background noise? If so, what song/artist/tv show/movie is your favorite?
I always have some noise going, the tv, radio or my kids. I tend to listen to Adele a lot when I crochet, and I watch a lot of Dr Phil.
Where do you like to crochet?
Typically sitting on my couch.
Why are you participating in the challenge?
Even though my schedule is crazy, I like to give back whenever I can. Premature babies are close to my heart. My oldest son was born at 29 weeks and weighed only 3lbs 3oz. I had the hardest time finding anything to keep his little head warm.
