Where are you from?
I am originally from Reno, NV but now live outside of Chehalis, WA
Tell us a little bit about your family.
I am a mother of 3. My oldest daughter (who we call the Squid) is 5, my son is 3 and my youngest daughter was born in August. I am also married to a wonderful man and his name is Ed.
Who taught you to crochet?
I did. In high school I decided to teach myself with a book I bought. It was just simple stitches at the time. After my daughter was born I started crocheting more and learned more complicated techniques.
What is your favorite thing you’ve ever made or designed?
That’s a tough one! I have a lot of tops I really enjoy wearing but I think my newborn doctor hat and stethoscope is my favorite. It was one of my first designs so it fueled my fire to start designing.
What got you started writing patterns?
I started out by selling finished hats on Etsy in 2009. At the time, I was unsure about the laws on selling items from patterns so I tried to play it safe and just made up my own designs. I realized the designing came pretty naturally to me but I didn’t think to write them up until people started asking for the patterns. In 2011 I gave writing them up a shot and realized I really enjoyed that as well.
