Rebecca of Little Monkeys Crochet donated Olivia’s preemie hat pattern to our challenge this year. She has darling patterns for all kinds of things. In fact, as I was scrolling through her site as I put together this blog post, my four year old informed me that she wanted to learn to crochet so she could make a “cute sweater for her cup.” Perhaps she’ll be having some lessons in the next few days!!
You can check out Rebecca’s blog and her social media sites at the links below. She’s also offering 50% off purchases from her Ravelry store to challenge participants, using the code NICUCHALLENGE

What got you started writing patterns?
When I learned to crochet, I was always deviating from patterns and coming up with different ways to accomplish what I wanted to create. It wasn’t long before I stopped using other designers’ patterns altogether and started working from scratch. I love how using different sizes and combinations of stitches determines the shape and feel of a finished project (I have always enjoyed math). I decided to start publishing my patterns in early 2014 and have really enjoyed the blogging side of design. (If you’d like to check out some of my premium patterns, you can use coupon code NICUCHALLENGE to get 50% off in my Ravelry store!)
Tell us a little bit about your family.
I am happily married to the man of my dreams, and we have two adorable, silly boys, Sam (4) and Isaiah (2). My husband is a pastor and we’ve just moved our little family back to where we grew up in southwest Michigan to pastor a small church. It’s the beginning of a new adventure for us, and I’m grateful that I can take my blog with me anywhere I go.
