We received a beautiful dress as a hand-me-down a few weeks ago, but the top had spaghetti straps, which we don’t let our girls wear unless they have a shirt underneath, and the skirt was just a little bit short for church. But my girls and I loved the fabric, so we decided to upcycle by saving the skirt and creating a new bodice.
We cut a new bodice using the bodice construction method from this post, then regathered the skirt and stitched it on. Finally, I made a large blue sash. I love how it came together!
